D.I.Y. Givenchy Nosering

The nose rings from the S/S 12 Givenchy couture collection are now infamous. Every single magazine of note have had the rings grace their editorials. The nose rings create a certain mystique; marrying both tribal and punk influences, they make any look instantly strong and striking. We've been coveting these nose rings for a while, but the hefty price tag keeps it far out of reach for us. It took a little while, but we think we've fashioned an acceptable dupe to these sought after rings. You design how you want your rings to look, have fun crafting your own couture look!

Step by step instructions by video:

***Alternate method***

If you do not want to buy any chain connectors and happen to have an old hoop earring lying around, you're in luck! You want the hoop to be large enough to grace the bottom of your lips when in your nose, if you're going for an exact recreation. Take scissors and cut off the part of the hoop closure that closes the ring up. (in the picture its the right hand side of the closure)

Once this is done, depending on the design of the hoop, you might want to stick on some plastic earring backs to cushion any sharp edges. Try the ring on your nose, and bend the hoop smaller or larger to create a better fit. The rest of the nose ring construction may be carried out like the original d.i.y. A smaller hoop earring can also be used to construct the second ring.

**Also note: please be careful inserting the rings into your nose! Some edges might still be slightly rough! If you insert gently and bend the ring to fit your nose properly, there should be no discomfort.
